Packing up and getting ready to attend a massive photo trade show in NYC this week where I am going to meet a ton of lovely vendors and learn from a bunch of talented people. Before I go, here is a portrait of Raven Skye who is an artist living in Florida.

We will transform a studio in downtown Manchester into a winter wonderland creating an artful and modern holiday backdrop to photograph your children. Lots of fun props and an array of sets will be on hand including over-sized candy canes, Santa hats, artfully wrapped gifts, twinkling lights and Christmas trees in an array of colors to suit your taste and your child’s clothing the day of the shoot.

Please bring any special holiday item you want for the photo which could include your favorite ornament or monogrammed stocking. Children should be dressed up in their holiday best in colors such as silver, gold, blue red, pink, green or turquoise. Monochromatic clothing will work brilliantly for this occasion!

Favorite children’s stores in the Manchester area include Baby Gap, Gap Kids, Gymboree and H&M Kids.

And finally, a sneak peek at some of the holiday card designs we are offering this year. Please note that colors and text may be adjusted to optimize your photos from the session. These are vendor design samples only.

Excited!? I am!

Printing Photos on Canvas

September 29th, 2011 by Tanya | Comments Off | Filed in Products

Sharing a few examples of gallery wraps (or photos printed on canvas) that I have made for clients. The pricing starts at $100 and they can be ordered, printed and shipped within 2 weeks!

Would be fun to have a collection, don’t you think?

1. 24x 36″ Gallery Wrap stretched over a 1.5″ wood frame. No frame needed as the image actually bleeds over the edges so you can hang it directly on the wall.

2. 11×14″ Photo stretched on canvas on a .5″ wood stretcher. This is a less expensive option and would need to be framed to hide the staples. The example here is shown with a matte finish.

3. 8×8″ Photo stretched on canvas on a .5″ wood stretcher.  The example here is shown with a UV protection gloss finish.

Fielding a Photoshoot in Bedford

September 27th, 2011 by Tanya | Comments Off | Filed in Portraits

Since most kids have a ton of energy, it’s a lot of fun to capture them unleashing a bit of it in a wide open field. When Kara called to schedule this portrait session, I had just the spot! A tree-lined, hilly park in Bedford where the children could run and play. Wyatt, Adelyn, and I ran all around, rolled down the hills, picked some berries, and they even sat together and hugged each other for a few moments. I hope you agree that these photos capture their essence. Oh, to be young. It is so sweet.

The Right {Head} Shot

September 26th, 2011 by Tanya | Comments Off | Filed in Portraits

Naomi visited the studio recently for an updated corporate head shot. She came prepared with an older head shot in hand saying she wasn’t crazy about the angle as in, “I like this side of my face better.” (I think we all have a preference.) A slight change in camera position, neck, chin and shoulders can accentuate certain planes of your face and bring out your best features.

With that, we tilted her head and chin and positioned her hair in various ways to best frame her face. In the end, we achieved a polished but friendly professional photo.

Congratulations, Naomi, for being selected as one of the top Realtors in New Hampshire!

The Cute Baby May

September 21st, 2011 by Tanya | Comments Off | Filed in Portraits

My home studio is filled with natural light, colorful blankets and fun furniture which serve as the perfect backdrop for photographing newborns. I photographed baby May on a selection of throws (including a sheepskin rug!) that complimented her sweet clothing. Here’s a peek. She’s apparently going through the “put everything in mouth’ phase. Hehe.

A Portrait at 22

September 15th, 2011 by Tanya | 3 Comments | Filed in Portraits

I received an email from a client asking if I would photograph her son who recently graduated from Columbia.  She explained she wanted to capture him as he is today before his life moves on in new ways. At 22 you feel grown up and ready for the world. That optimism, energy, and willingness to have new experiences is a gift. I moved to NYC in my twenties and regard it as one of the most special places and times in my life.

Alex, best wishes to you as you go on your way. The world is your oyster. I’m pretty sure you know that.
