Versatile by Design: A Look at Violet Marsh Interiors' Most Dynamic Projects
Project: Colorful Modernism in Morningside
We’re thrilled to share that Violet Marsh Interiors was recently named Best Versatile Design Firm in Atlanta by Modern Luxury Interiors Southeast. From mid-century modern makeovers to elevated transitional spaces and everything in between, our work is all about meeting our clients where they are and creating spaces that feel like them. To celebrate the win, we’re rounding up a few standout projects that show the range of what we do—and just how far thoughtful design can go.
Morningside New Build
In Atlanta's Morningside neighborhood, we crafted a 6,000-square-foot residence that seamlessly blends modern elegance with functional living. On the main floor, a moody study painted in Sherwin Williams’ Black Fox adds instant character, while the dining room brings a soft, earthy vibe with Setting Plaster by Farrow & Ball. There’s also a custom bar nook with floating shelves and antique mirror backing that’s just waiting for cocktail hour.
The kitchen is the true heart of the home—warm, layered, and effortlessly elegant. Think white oak cabinetry, Superlative quartzite countertops, a custom plaster hood, and brass accents that give it just the right amount of shine. A hidden scullery keeps the mess tucked away, so the kitchen always feels calm and collected.
Upstairs, the primary suite is a total retreat. It kicks off with a wallpaper-lined vestibule, leads into a bedroom with soaring ceilings and a painted wood treatment, and finishes with a dreamy spa-like bathroom that checks every box.
From bold moments to quiet luxury, this home is a perfect example of the versatility and thoughtfulness Violet Marsh Interiors brings to every project.

Charming Maine Cottage Renovation
We transformed this charming Harpswell, Maine cottage into a warm and inviting retreat. The cottage, originally owned by an older couple, came fully stocked with their belongings. We began by editing the space and creating a functional furniture layout to bring comfort and cohesion to each room.
A significant change involved removing an L-shaped wall that blocked ocean views and created a dark hallway. This opened up the space, connecting the kitchen with the dining and living areas, and allowed for better circulation and more seating.
The design incorporated repurposed furniture, original art, and decorative items like a brass dolphin and a wooden boat, adding character and charm. Plug-in sconces were added to the living room walls, saving table space and enhancing the cozy atmosphere.
This project is the perfect showcase of our ability to blend old and new, creating a space that's both functional and full of personality.

Colorful Modernism in Morningside
When a client says, "More color! More pattern!" you know it's going to be a fun project. This Morningside home, with its modern architecture, large windows, and courtyard pool, reminded the homeowner of Greece. He wanted to transform the neutral space into something vibrant and personal.
The entryway got a bold update with a turquoise and brass chest from Jonathan Adler, a unique heirloom mirror, and dimensional "scribbles" wallpaper that adds texture and interest.
In the living room, the design started with a colorful rug that set the tone for the space. Neutral seating with black and white fabrics was paired with a custom yellow lacquer coffee table and red leather side tables. Vintage lamps and custom pillows added layers of personality.
The result is a cheerful, inviting home that reflects the client's love for midcentury design, color, and entertaining.

Vinings Atlanta Estate
When we stepped into this Vinings estate, we found a home with stunning architecture, but it lacked personality and warmth. The goal was to infuse the space with texture, color, and a touch of Southern elegance.
In the entryway, we introduced creamy ivory silk grasscloth wallpaper, swapped out the light fixture for something with sparkle, and added key furniture pieces. Wall sconces flanked a gilded antique mirror above a console table, creating a welcoming and refined space.
The dining room, already furnished with a beautiful rug and silk taffeta drapery, received a boost with muted green and gold wallpaper that added depth and tied the elements together. Gold wallpaper on the ceiling and a new chandelier from RH completed the transformation.
In the study, we optimized the layout by making a velvet sofa the focal point, adding end tables, a game table, and additional seating to create a sociable and inviting atmosphere. Existing art was thoughtfully placed to enhance the room's character.
This project showcases how thoughtful design choices can turn a house with good bones into a warm and inviting home that reflects the homeowner's style and the charm of Southern living.
